Sir Tim Berners-Lee: 'I don't need to be a celebrity'

The inventor of the world wide web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, has said he "doesn't need to be a celebrity" following his role in the Opening Ceremony.

During the ceremony, NBC's Olympic commentators Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer admitted they had not heard of the inventor.

Sir Tim told the BBC's Dave Lee that NBC have not apologised for the comments. "It doesn't bother me at all," he said.
