Tech pioneer Nandan Nilekani leads India biometric push

Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of the Indian technology company Infosys, has quit the firm to lead a government project to provide a unique ID number to one billion Indians.

The project is the world's biggest biometric exercise and has faced criticism over invasion of privacy.
