'Lowest crime level for nearly 30 years'

Crime has fallen to its lowest level for nearly 30 years.

These latest figures for England and Wales come as a new report says budget cuts proposed by the government could mean thousands of officers being taken off the streets.

Ministers dispute this - saying there are back room savings to be made.
