English villages could get housing development powers
People living in rural communities where locals have been priced out of the market, may soon be able to build their own homes, without needing planning permission.
The government wants to introduce what a Right to Build scheme, which it says will create more affordable housing in the countryside.
But some environmental groups say they have major reservations about the idea.
