Quad bike danger on the road

They are compact, easy to drive and have a top speed of 80 to 90 miles an hour.

Little wonder then that there has been a boom in the sales of "road legal" quad bikes recently.

But there are growing fears for the safety of the people who choose to ride them.

Unlike motorbikes and scooters, you are not legally required to wear a helmet when you are on a quad bike.
