Police discover cannabis factory

Police have discovered a cannabis factory in Buckinghamshire containing drugs with an estimated street value of at least £2m.

They said about 1,000 plants were in an industrial unit near Westcott in Aylesbury Vale, growing in 18 shipping containers.

Two 29-year-old men have been charged with production of a class B drug.

The discovery comes as a report by the Association of Chief Police Officers says the number of cannabis farms being discovered in the UK has more than doubled in the last two years. Almost 7,000 were found in 2009.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Mears said it was one of the largest cannabis factories ever discovered by the force.
