Trident is a 'hot potato' for Labour says Nick Harvey
Liberal Democrat members have voted to push the coalition to carry out a full review of plans to replace the Trident nuclear missile system.
A motion passed at the party's annual conference warned a like-for-like replacement for the nuclear deterrent could mean widespread military cuts.
Before the vote, Armed Forces Minister Nick Harvey revealed that the timing for the final decision on Trident, which has been delayed by a few months, will turn the issue into a "hot potato" for the Labour Party.
