Kidnapped British aid worker on ordeal in Somalia

A British aid worker abducted by masked gunmen in Somalia has spoken to the press in Nairobi about his ordeal.

Zimbabwe-born Frans Barnard, who was working for Save the Children, is now safe and well in Nairobi.

A spokesman said his release had been secured with the help of clan elders and said no money had been involved.

At a news conference in Nairobi, Mr Barnard said he was seized in "under seven minutes" but was not harmed.
