Emperor stag shot on Exmoor

A 9ft-tall Exmoor stag called The Emperor, thought to be the biggest wild land animal in the UK, has been shot.

Photographer Richard Austin, who took a widely-seen still of the beast, recalls how it felt to be close to the animal and questions whether it was right to shoot him.
