David Cameron urges EU leaders to show budget restraint

UK Prime Minister David Cameron has phoned several EU leaders urging them to limit any rise in the EU's budget to the "lowest possible" increase.

He spoke to French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel among others, overs worries that a 6% rise would cost the UK another £900m a year.
