Cornwall hit by serious flooding

The Prime minister has promised to do everything he can to help Cornwall get back on its feet after heavy rain and gale force winds caused serious flooding overnight in parts of the county.

St Blazey, St Austell and Lostwithiel are the worst affected areas, where water is 4ft deep in some places.

Main roads have been closed, landslides have disrupted train services in and out of Cornwall and some schools are shut.

Jon Kay reports.
