Fresh snow brings school closures in Scotland

Parts of Scotland have suffered some of their worst winter weather for nearly 40 years. Nine hundred schools are closed.

In Northern Ireland, more than 600 schools - half the total - are shut.

In South Lanarkshire, more than 120 pupils, parents and staff were forced to spend the night in make-shift dormitories because of the bad weather.

Glen Campbell is in Edinburgh.
