Criminal checks on child workers to be reduced

Millions of people in England and Wales will no longer need criminal record checks to work or volunteer with children and vulnerable adults.

The changes to the vetting and barring scheme are among a series of measures contained in the government's Freedoms Bill.

It will also ban wheel clamping on private land, limit police stop-and-search powers, and give residents more control over CCTV.
