Libya: Helena Sheerhan on the chaos at Tripoli airport

British nationals returning to Gatwick from Libya have described chaotic scenes at Tripoli airport as they tried to get flights out of the country.

Some stranded Britons have criticised the government's response to the crisis in recent days, saying not enough was done to ensure their safety. The Prime Minister has apologised for the handling of the evacuation.

Professor Helena Sheerhan from Dublin University described what she saw in Tripoli and how she managed to get back to the UK.
