Western Isles whale death amid fresh fears for pod

Animal welfare experts monitoring a group of whales who are threatening to beach themselves in the Western Isles have found a dead member of the pod.

The group of about 60 whales had moved from the shallow waters of Loch Carnan, South Uist, and were swimming south.

But British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) later said the animals had headed back into the loch.

The BBC's James Shaw reports.

This video features Calum Watt from the Scottish SPCA and Alasdair Jack from BDMLR.
