Politicians are fond of talking about the 'squeezed middle', people in work but none the less facing tough times, as Britain struggles out of recession.

Many will be affected by proposed changes for public sector pensions, but what other changes are on the way and how are people coping?

The BBC has been to Melbourne in Derbyshire to gauge the mood.
