'Cruel' fiancee murderer Andrew Lindo gets life sentence

A music teacher who strangled, battered and stabbed his fiancee to death before putting her body in a suitcase, has been jailed for at least 22 years.

Andrew Lindo, 29, from Holmfirth admitted killing Marie Stewart, who was the mother of his two children, but denied her murder.

His trial heard he had been living a double life, having several affairs.

Speaking outside Bradford Crown Court, Det Supt Dick Nuttall of West Yorkshire Police said the killing was a ''cruel and deliberate act''.
