CCTV released of tractor train crash as farmer sentenced

CCTV footage has been released showing the moment when a commuter train hit a trailer attached to a tractor in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire.

The video emerged as farmer John Watkyn-James, 51, was sentenced to a 36-week suspended jail sentence for endangering safety, an offence he had earlier admitted.

Watkyn-James, of Limestone Hill Farm, parked his tractor next to the track at Kidwelly on 31 January with the trailer he was towing on the line.

It was the hit by a Manchester to Milford Haven train, but no-one was injured in the incident.
