Prince Philip: Surgeon explains Duke's treatment

The Duke of Edinburgh will remain in hospital for observation for a short period, after being treated for a blocked coronary artery.

Prince Philip was taken to Papworth Hospital in Cambridge from Sandringham on Friday night after complaining of chest pains.

Shyam Kolvekar, a consultant cardio-thoracic surgeon at University College London Hospital, told the BBC a blocked coronary artery was extremely serious and would have needed immediate surgery.
