Remarkable feats for "leap day"

29 February is "leap day", an extra day added to the calendar every four years to compensate for the fact that a compete revolution of the Earth around the sun takes approximately 365 days and six hours.

This extra day helps keep the Earth co-ordinated with the sun's apparent position and this year has prompted many listeners to the BBC's PM programme to contemplate doing something special, like a 60-year-old woman having her first tattoo of a Shakespearian quote or a man overcoming his panic attacks to get on the bus to Swansea.

PM is on BBC Radio Four, Monday to Saturday at 17:00 GMT or listen again via the iPlayer (UK only) on the link.
