Stephen Carroll murder: 'Debt of gratitude to witness'

The widow of a police officer shot dead by dissident republicans in 2009 has spoken of her family's "huge debt of gratitude" to an anonymous witness instrumental in convicting the men responsible.

Kate Carroll said she knew more people had information about what happened the night her husband, Stephen Carroll, was killed during a police call-out in Craigavon.

She said that if "the bravery and commitment" of Witness M could be shown by more people, "we would all reap the benefits."
