Food system 'is failing,' say MPs who call for wider food strategy
The UK government needs to tackle the UK's "failing food system" by linking its policies on health, environment and education, a committee of MPs has said.
The Environmental Audit Committee says obesity and diet-related illness increasing and advertisers targeting youngsters on the internet with junk food ads.
Labour MP Joan Walley, who chairs the committee, explained her concerns to Vaughan Roderick on BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement programme.
They were joined by Steve Garrett, the founder of Riverside Food Market in Cardiff, who has also worked with the Food Standards Agency on community engagement projects.
