Templeton Prize: Dalai Lama 'honoured' by award
The Dalai Lama has said he will give £1.1m that he has been awarded in prize money to charity.
The Tibetan spiritual leader received the annual Templeton Prize for his exceptional contribution to "affirming life's spiritual dimension".
About £900,000 will go to Save the Children in India, with £125,000 set aside for The Minds and Life Institute.
A special service was held at St Paul's Cathedral in London to mark the occasion.
