Harriet Harman: Cameron 'at fault over Hunt BSkyB role'

The Shadow Secretary for Culture Media and Sport, Harriet Harman, has said that the prime minister "should never have appointed Jeremy Hunt to decide on the Murdoch bid for BSkyB".

Speaking to the BBC, she said: "The law is that you have to act impartially. David Cameron put in charge of this bid somebody... who had already made up his mind on it."

Her comments came after it emerged that Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt sent a memo to David Cameron suggesting his support for the takeover before he was put in charge of dealing with it.
