'Government must avoid U-turn bear-traps'

With another u-turn on government policy, this time over the so-called "pasty tax", is there a danger that the government ends up looking direction-less, or does it simply show pragmatic governing, and that those in charge will listen, and respond?

Mark Pritchard, Conservative MP for the Wrekin in Shropshire, told The World At One's Shaun Ley that "there should be lessons drawn from this Budget, that we need to consult where we can ahead of the Budget without giving away what's in the Budget and secondly we communicate far more effectively the policies, and detail of particular policies, in order that we can avoid some of the political bear-traps the government have recently fallen into".
