Archbishop reveals Queen's 'extremely funny' personality

Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams has been paying to the Queen, revealing her to be someone with a "real personality".

As the Diamond Jubilee weekend approaches, Dr Williams spoke of the Queen's sense of humour, describing her as someone "who can be friendly, who can be informal, who can be extremely funny in private - and not everybody appreciates how funny she can be".

The Archbishop also praised the Queen's role as head of state, saying "she has I think genuinely helped us as a society to keep our heads collectively and not be panicked by change".
