Leveson: I will not be deterred by adverse coverage

Lord Justice Leveson has insisted he will not be deterred from questioning the conduct of the press despite recent adverse press coverage.

In a statement, he said that he made a phone call in which he questioned David Cameron's commitment to his inquiry.

The contact came after cabinet minister Michael Gove expressed concern over the "chilling" effect the inquiry was having on freedom of speech.

Lord Justice Leveson said he had no "hidden agenda" to stifle a free press.
