Caroline Spelman visits storm hit north-east England

Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has visited the north-east of England as the region continues with the clear up.

Almost 2,500 homes in the region are still without electricity following the storms.

Ms Spelman praised the emergency services for "swinging into action" but said no drains could cope with such an intense 24 hour period of rain.
