Manchester police: G4S security absence 'a disgrace'

Only 17 of an expected 56 G4S staff turned up for work at an Olympic team hotel in Salford, the chair of the Greater Manchester Police Federation has said.

Ian Hanson described the failure as a "debacle" and a "national disgrace"

As a result, the force has pulled in front-line officers to provide security.
