Boy, 11, boards flight from UK to Rome with no passport

A major investigation is under way after an 11-year-old boy managed to board a flight for Rome from Manchester Airport without a passport, ticket or boarding pass.

The boy got through a security screen by mingling with a family going through Terminal One on Tuesday afternoon.

He was discovered while the Jet2 plane was in mid-air, after passengers started to wonder who he belonged to.

A number of airline staff have been suspended. Danny Savage reports.
