Young runner talks about lighting the Olympic cauldron

Desiree Henry, who was one of the next generation of British competitors nominated to light the Olympic cauldron, has said the experience was "magical".

She was one of seven athletes who were involved in the spectacular lighting of the cauldron after she was nominated by Daley Thompson.

The young sprinter told the BBC that the torch she lit the cauldron with hasn't left her side since the lighting ceremony.

The UK's TV audience for the Olympic opening ceremony peaked at 26.9m, the BBC has said.
