Justin Welby: Baby of new archbishop died in car crash

The Bishop of Durham, Justin Welby, who is due to be formally announced as the new Archbishop of Canterbury, initially resisted his calling to the Church, according to a friend.

Reverend Sally Hitchiner said that he eventually decided to leave the oil industry, in which he was very successful, to pursue his vocation.

She also told BBC Breakfast that the death of his baby daughter in a car crash in 1983 was a key part of who he was.
