Civil rights concerns over GCHQ spy claims

The UK's eavesdropping centre, GCHQ, will report to MPs within days over claims it secretly accessed data on the internet activity of Britons obtained through a US spying programme.

Shami Chakrabarti, the director of the civil rights group, Liberty, said there needed to be greater international cooperation in protecting people's rights to privacy.
