Linzi Ashton murder: Police appeal to former partner

Police have appealed to the former partner of a murdered woman to given himself up, and have warned that anyone keeping him in hiding, may face prosecution.

Mother-of-two Linzi Ashton, 25, was discovered at her home on Saturday. Tests showed she died of pressure to the neck and multiple injuries.

Superintendent Kevin Mulligan has urged to her former partner, Michael Cope, 28, to hand himself in to the police.

''He does have a history of violent and aggressive behaviour,'' he told reporters.
