Manchester fire crews 'devastated' at fireman's death

Two 15-year-old girls have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a fireman was killed tackling a blaze in Manchester.

Stephen Hunt was among 60 firefighters called to the store-room of Paul's Hair World in Oldham Street.

He got into difficulty and was taken to hospital together with an injured colleague, but was confirmed dead.

Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service, Steve McGuirk, said fellow firefighters were ''devastated'' at the news.
