Syria crisis: Publish advice, Labour urges government

The Shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander says Labour wants to see evidence of chemical weapon attacks in Syria last week, before backing any military intervention.

Parliament is being recalled on Thursday to debate what action to take against the country in the wake of the attacks on the outskirts of Damascus.

Mr Alexander said his party would wait until the findings of UN inspectors were known before offering backing for any coalition plans.
