British public opinion divided on Syria intervention

A decade ago, approximately one million people marched through the streets of London, opposing the then government's plans for military action against Iraq.

Opinion polls seem to suggest many Britons do not want to be involved in another war and many say intervention will prove "costly".

Today the government debated military action in Syria in response to the chemical weapons used near Damascus.

Jon Kay spoke to people in Portsmouth to find out their opinions on possible British military intervention in Syria.
