Live the Story: the Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay

On Wednesday the Queen sent the baton for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games on its way around the world.

The baton, made of titanium, wood and granite, contains the Queen's hand-written message to the Commonwealth and will visit all 70 competing nations and territories over 288 days.

BBC Journalist Christian Parkinson was at the opening event and met some of those taking part.
