The papers: Thursday's front pages

Broadcaster David Davies and Philippa Kennedy, readers' ombudsman at The Sun, joined the BBC News Channel to cast their eyes over Thursday's newspapers.

They began by discussing the dramatic photographs of the storms battering Britain which appear on the front pages of many papers.

The pair then moved on to the Times's front-page lead, which focuses on the first UK prosecution for female genital mutilation, before examining the Daily Mail's splash about GPs protesting about the collection of personal data by the NHS.
