Jo Brand: Social workers are 'damned' either way

Jo Brand has defended the work of social workers, describing them as "damned if they do and damned if they don't".

The comedian, herself a former psychiatric nurse, ahead of the launch of her new sitcom called Damned, which focuses on life in a social services department.

She told Richard Bacon BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon social workers were "not rewarded in any way" by the public, arguing the work has become more impersonal and less highly valued.
