Timeline of the UK 's 13 years in Afghanistan

The UK's 13-year military campaign in Afghanistan has come to an end - and the last British base, Camp Bastion, has been handed over to Afghan security forces.

UK forces were part of a US-led coalition which toppled the ruling Taliban in 2001, following the 9/11 attacks, and Bastion has been the UK's main Afghan base since 2006.

Christian Fraser has been looking back at the British involvement in the conflict.
