Waterstones sign death: Eyewitness describes attempts to rescue woman

A Waterstones worker was killed after the store's sign fell on her as she was locking up the Blackpool shop.

Margaret Sheridan, 68, from Singleton, Lancashire, was closing the store's shutters when she was crushed by the large sign.

Mark English described how he was one of a number of people who dragged the sign off Ms Sheridan so that paramedics could help her.

However, the 68-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
