British jihadist Imran Khawaja 'serious threat' - Met Police

British jihadist Imran Khawaja was a dangerous individual who represented a "very serious threat" to the UK, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Khawaja, who travelled to Syria and then faked his own death to get back into the UK, has been sentenced to 12 years.

The 27-year-old from west London admitted preparing for acts of terrorism, attending a camp, receiving training and possessing firearms.

Commander Richard Walton said: "This was a man who chose the path of terrorism, he chose to go to Syria to use weapons".
