'What happens if UK pilots over Syria are captured by IS?'

UK pilots seconded to coalition forces have been conducting air strikes over Syria against the so-called Islamic State group, it has emerged.

Fawaz Gerges, who is professor of international relations at the London School of Economics, told the Victoria Derbyshire programme he was "not surprised" at the news and pointed out the "real risks" of pilots being captured.

In 2013 MPs voted against military action in Syria.
