Storm Aileen brings strong winds to UK

The first named storm of the year has hit the UK and will continue through Wednesday morning, bringing strong winds.

Storm Aileen, which is now moving off British shores towards the North Sea, left thousands without power overnight.

The Met Office warns gusts of up to 75mph could hit north Wales, southern parts of northern England, the north Midlands and Norfolk later.
