Derby fire: Residents hold tribute to support children

A fundraising event has been organised in Derby to pay tribute to the six children who died in a fire at their family home.

A large crowd gathered at Osmaston Park, before walking to the house on Victory Road to join hands and hold a minute's silence.

Local vicar Father Alan Burbidge said residents wanted to come together to show their support for the children.

The event was organised by Laura Higgins, who described how the community had been affected by the deaths.

The children's parents, Mick and Mairead Philpott were charged with murder following the house fire on 11 May.
