MPs consider Under 17 Car Club driver training method

The Under 17 Car Club, which trains young drivers, is being used as an example to MPs who are being urged to consider changes to the way people are taught to drive.

A study was presented at Westminster which claims the system of teaching young drivers could save lives if it was adopted nationally.

The club, which is run by volunteers, gives its members experience of skid pan driving, high speed slaloms and truck driving, among other things.

It currently operates in Wiltshire, Warwickshire, Devon, Dorset, Essex, Berkshire and Worcestershire.
