Farmer 'devastated' by sheep theft

Farmers in Manchester and Lancashire have met police officers to look at ways of tackling what they say is "devastating" rural crime.

Dan Towers said the theft of 58 pregnant ewes was "a major setback" for his business.

The pedigree sheep, worth a total of £30,000, were taken from his farm in Wray, Lancashire.

Greater Manchester's police and crime commissioner, Tony Lloyd. said thieves who targeted farms should be "brought to book like everyone else".
