CCTV plea after Birmingham cab driver shooting

Cabbies in Birmingham have called for the city council to help fund the installation of CCTV in all taxis after a driver was shot.

Deepak Sitapuria was shot multiple times with a pellet gun and struck in the head, chest and elbow during an attempted robbery last month.

His boss Barry Sollinger, of Castle Cars, said: "I think once CCTV goes into the cars... any assailant that's coming from either outside or anything that happens inside, they'll know they're being filmed."

BBC Midlands Today's Sarah Falkland reports.
