West Midlands scrap metal thefts 'fall by 77%'

The number of thefts of scrap metal in the West Midlands has dropped by more than 70% over the past year, police have said.

Dealers claim metal theft in the region has cost them tens of thousands of pounds, both in lost revenue and the installation of surveillance equipment and security.

The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 tightened the industry, making it illegal to operate without a licence.

But as BBC Midlands Today's Amy Cole reports, businesses are still concerned about theft.
